Moroccan town villa near the beach – Conveniently situated within the walls of Essaouira old town, Riad Tamara is a traditionally built town villa featuring a truly charming courtyard garden and private plunge pool. It has been meticulously renovated to retain as many of its original features as possible and it is decorated throughout with a mix of fabrics, antique furniture and artefacts sourced from the region. The combination of original tiles and metal work helps create a true and colourful impression of ancient Moroccan style.

Riad Tamara offers flexible accommodation spread over three floors, each with galleried landing, en suite bedrooms, and independent living/kitchenette, to suit groups or families. Unique for a house in the Medina (the old town), the courtyard wall abuts the Medina walls and its pool is fed from the villa's private well.   

From the terrace you can enjoy wonderful views over the colourful daily market, selling local produce and the sea with the Island of Mogador in the distance. Trips to this island can be organised by hiring one of the many privately owned fishing boats in the port. A stroll at sunset along the ramparts of this UNESCO World Heritage Listed Site is strongly recommended to enjoy spectacular views of the town, its mosque and souks.Within 4 minutes from this villa Essaouira beach is probably one of the most beautiful beaches in all Africa, with miles of superb sand. Camel and horse riding are very popular activities here and so are all water sports, especially those requiring wind and strong currents. In fact, Essaouira prides itself on being the windsurfing capital of Africa.
